Overview

Kato Laboratories Pty Ltd was incorporated by Anthony McGloin in November 2016. Tony was the previous owner of Apex Laboratories Pty Ltd. Apex has always been an Australian family owned company commencing business in 1962. Over the past twenty years Tony built Apex to be a leading high quality Australian manufacturer and distributor of generic veterinary medicines. Apex markets well known brands to all Australian and New Zealand veterinary clinics and hospitals. Tony sold Apex Laboratories to Dechra PLC in October 2016.

Kato is staffed by a small team of experienced professionals with veterinary and  veterinary manufacturing experience.

Currently Kato does in-house formulation development and process development work and outsources projects to external third parties with expertise in: veterinary therapeutics; APVMA regulatory submissions; animal clinical trials; and to other PhD scientists to support our in-house work. This enables Kato to work on many products simultaneously with the objective of reducing time from development to full commercialisation.
